La Misma Luna
La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon) is directed by Patricia Riggen. It is about the story of a young boy, Carlitos whose mother, Roario left Mexico four years ago to seek a better life in LA, leaving behind her young son Carlitos, now nine years old, with his grandmother. Carlitos crossed the border to find his mother, living in LA. The movie takes place in a world in which most strangers mean well and kind hearts win out over harsh reality, but it also takes care to explore the challenges of simply existing in this country as an illegal immigrant. La Misma Luna has no political agenda other than to advocate compassion for all. This is an independent film and can only be seen in independent film theaters. Check your local listings.

Yes I agree with you. This was a great movie. The mother's name was Rosario. The 9 year old illegally crosses the border because his grandmother dies and he did not want to spend his life with the money hungry aunt and uncle.
This movie does show the love between a mother and her son.
Portions of this is subtitled and is a worth while movie to see.
