Starry Night

"Starry Night," painted by Vincent Van Gogh to me is unquestionably a masterpiece. His utilization of colors to produce his perspective of the sky is very abstract. The harsh and curvilinear brush strokes he used to create the sky made me think that he felt the world wasn’t perfect and it was different than what it appears to be.

What do you think? Was Van Gogh's "Starry Night" a masterpiece to you?

Actually Van Gogh did see the world differently. He was bi-polar and when he had bouts of mania, his canvas had lighter colors. When he was depressed, the dark mood was apparent in his work. He had few friends and never really felt as though he "fit in." His fame bagan after his demise. His work is awesome!
