Warwick Teens in the Summer

What I have noticed with teenagers in the town of Warwick is that they are perfectly content with doing absolutely nothing. Walking around from Memorial to Stanley Demming Park and all throughout town is the norm. In addition, going from restaurant to cafe. This is the normal routine, especially during the summer, and is repeated daily. However, things start to get too repetitive when a teenager doesn't have a way to get to the mall or bowling. However, there are many different events that are put on by the Warwick Valley Community Center and the Albert Wisner Library, but not many teenagers attend. I sometimes wonder if the meaning of a Warwick summer is to complain, because we do have things to do, but we choose not to do them. If you think I'm wrong, then go to some events around town, join a club or class and have your friends join too.

Now, here's my thing with the library activities. The events they choose as interesting for "teens" really only apply to a younger "tWeen" audience. I spent most of my summer in between 7th and 8th volunteering at the Chester Library.

But I digress.

Anyway, for example, the Jewelry making session on July 29th. Yeah, it sounds fun if you're around the age of 12 and really need something to do. If you're around the age of 15, 16, I HIGHLY doubt you'll go and make ankle bracelets at a library just because you can. Yes, that particular session is free but it also ties in with gas cost if you happen to live in the middle of nowhere.

Another factor that I think ties in with everything is "Town Spirit", almost like "School Spirit". You either have it or you don't.
